We know that’s probably the worst play on words you’ve ever heard, but just about the whole office has been to see Jurassic World and we all agree there could be some lessons to learn with football in mind!
“Don’t mess with nature?”
“The scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should?”
“Eat like a caveman?”
Erm…we were thinking along other lines…
**Spoiler alert – if you haven’t already seen it you’ll probably want to stop reading!
The film takes us to 22years after the events of Jurassic Park and Isla Nublar is now a fully functioning dinosaur theme park.
We know, when will they learn???
All the favourites are there: T-Rex, Velociraptors, and some new ones too; including the 18metre, great white shark eating, aquatic reptile; the Mosasaurus!
To boost visitor numbers the park has created a dinosaur hybrid – the Indominus Rex. Think a ‘Frankenstein’ concoction of the various deadly traits from different dinosaurs, with a T-Rex as its base! It’s a killing machine!
Anyway, long story short, you guessed it, the Indominus Rex gets loose and creates mayhem. Other dinosaurs are escaping too and people are getting eaten left, right and centre.
The film’s climax ultimately see’s the ‘big-dogs’ fighting it out.
On paper the winner by a long shot should be the Indominus Rex. She’s the biggest, most deadly and has more ability/skills! But, in any competition there’s more to it than that…
The T-Rex, Velociraptors and Mosasaurus win the day, and it basically boils down to teamwork.
This is definitely true of football too.
The takeaway point?
There’s always someone bigger, quicker, more skilful or simply better than you, BUT teamwork can almost always beat skilful individuals playing for themselves!
Nothing on nutrition today, but tomorrow we’ll tell you what you can do to get on top, even if you aren’t the most skilful!
